At Dyess We Care Team, our Airmen are equipped not with guns or rifles but with brushes and rollers to paint homes and offer minor project-related repairs to support the elderly, disabled, and others in need.<\/p>\n
The Dyess We Care Team is dedicated to fostering leadership, promoting mentorship, strengthening resiliency, and enhancing camaraderie within Dyess AFB through meaningful community service.<\/p>\n
Comprising primarily of active-duty Airmen, participation in the Dyess We Care Team is entirely voluntary. We aim to schedule two Saturdays per month for We Care Team projects. During fair-weather months, we have the flexibility of scheduling outdoor projects for approximately 14 days.<\/p>\n
Our team focuses on painting houses with some associated repairs, and the recipients must be the homeowner. Our focus is on projects that can be completed within a short timeframe, typically 2 – 3 Saturdays and do not require Texas state certification or a licensed contractor. Due to our military mission, we may not be able to reach out to every requester if their submissions fall outside our purview (painting houses). We can contact you only when we are strongly considering your request for scheduling.<\/p>\n
The Dyess We Care Team provides both free labor and materials. As a result, we receive a high volume of requests. Unfortunately, the selection process can take several months. For more immediate assistance, we recommend contacting 211 for additional resources.<\/p>\n
