We need volunteers to take this VETERAN’s home from DRAB to FAB!!\nOh\, and they’ve picked a BOLD color… TURQUOISE!! \nMr. Boden is a disabled veteran out in Merkel Texas who got a new wheelchair ramp last year; however\, the NEW ramp on the OLD house doesn’t look too good to Mrs. Boden! We need volunteers to take this VETERAN’s home from DRAB to FAB!! As the home is difficult to find\, we need all volunteers to meet at the VFW located at 1049 Veterans Drive (across from Dyess AFB). Because of limited parking\, we are asking volunteers to carpool. IF WILLING TO WORK ALL DAY\, please remember to sign up for EACH shift. DESCRIPTION:Robin was diagnosed with Lyphomia and had to quit her job due to her failing health. Nearly 18 years ago\, before The Dyess We Care Team had any money\, she donated donuts for all our WCT projects. Even recently\, when she saw us down the road\, she allowed us to store supplies in her garage\, and she even helped out with our project (as much as she could). She is a hard working woman\, who was reluctant to ask for help. ALL THE MORE REASON TO PROVIDE IT! DESCRIPTION:Click here to volunteer. \nSadly\, this Christmas – there will be homeless on the streets. Even sadder\, there will be children\, too. There is little we can do about it THIS Christmas\, BUT… we CAN do something we can do NOW\, so there will be some shelter NEXT year. \nOn Saturday\, December 17th The Dyess We Care Team will help Hope Haven revitalize 11 mini-apartments that will provide temporary shelter (while Hope Haven arranges resources\, treatment and job placement) for homeless families. \nNot “Christmasy” enough for you?? How about this? \nCurrently\, there is a small room designated as the children’s “Play Room”. A group of students recently painted it; one of the Hope Haven staff said\, “After I saw it\, I went home and cried.” She was NOT shedding tears of joy! It is dreary and depressing. It’s bad enough to be homeless child; at least ONE room should be fun and happy. \nOur #1 priority is to get the apartments ready for NEXT year; HOWEVER\, IF we get enough volunteers… Hope Haven has given The Dyess We Care Team COMPLETE CREATIVE FREEDOM to do what we want with the children’s playroom!! \nEven better… THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE HAVE PLANNED!! There are THREE volunteer positions for “Artist”. The Children’s room is going to be a Train & Zoo animal theme\, so we need artist to paint landscape\, trees\, clouds an animals. IF that’s you\, SNAG the “Artist” volunteer slots\, AND e-mail me at: thedyesswecareteam@yahoo.com. \nUNLESS we get at LEAST 30 volunteers… the Children’s Playroom will NOT happen. \nPLEASE consider volunteering for our LAST project of 2016. \nOH… and because this project is SO grand… EVERY volunteer will receive a NEW Dyess We Care Team 2017 volunteer t-shirt\, just in time for Christmas! \nThe Team Leader for this event is A1C Reese Winters\, assisted by A1C Joseph Burk\, with Lead Carpenter TSgt Bryan Carrillo. \n“Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store.
