DESCRIPTION:In 1982 several Abilene business men became aware of the need that existed at the Abilene Boys Ranch.  Since most of these “Good Ole Boys” were chili cookers\, it was decided that the way to raise money would be to have a chili cook off.  The Chili Super Bowl was born.\nAmazing transformations have happened at the Ranch since the beginning of the cook off.  The Boys Ranch has since been renamed Ben Richey Boys Ranch in memory of its founder.  The Ranch has grown to be able to house 34 young men who attend local school\, churches and are active in the community\nFriday\, September 4th – Sunday\, September 6th\nThe Chili Super Bowl is located six miles south of Abilene on FM 89 at the Old Settlers Reunion Grounds in Buffalo Gap Texas.\nBen Richey Annual Chili Bowl Weekend\nLabor Day weekend is about to get spicy! 🌶 Join us Friday–Sunday during Labor Day Weekend for the 44th Annual Ben Richey Super Chili Bowl.\nWe need YOU to:\n\n\n🎟 Sell tickets (smiles included\, free of charge)\n\n\n🧊 Deliver ice to our vendors (instant superhero status on a hot day)\n\n\n🍲 Make chili (or at least stir it like you mean it)\n\n\n🥩 Judge brisket\, ribs\, chicken\, chili\, and more — yes\, this is an actual job\, and yes\, your opinion finally matters!\n\n\nBut here’s the kicker — this isn’t just about bragging rights or stuffing your face with smoked meat.
