The past year has been a bit slow compared to the Dyess We Care Team standards due to the COVID outbreak.  Hopefully with things getting back a bit more on the normal side, the We Care Team can begin providing assistance to those in need.

The past couple of weeks provided a unique opportunity when the First Christian Church reached out for assistance an idea.  It turns out the church wanted to use the Chaplain home as a Mother’s Day Out and eventuall a full day care facility to serve the community. They currently operat from another location and have several Dyess parents who use their services. Oh, and they left all the designs up to the We Care Team!

One of the challenges with the make-over was to recover and re-purpose the fireplace.  In order to pull this off the We Care Team once again solicated the many talents of Jason and his team from Honey Do Services-Abilene.  The Dyess We Care Team and Honey Do have teamed up on other projects in the past to provide assistance to those in need in the Abilene area.

The project consisted of painting and wall papering several themed rooms as well as a new playground.  The project was lead by SrA Alexis Hernandez and A1C Ashton Morris.  To see more photographs from the project, click on the gallery link below.
