The Dyess We Care Team (WCT) provides minor home repair to the disabled, elderly, and those in need. Our governing board, like our team, are all volunteers. We have NO paid employees! Our Program Expenses constitutes 100% of our income.

The WCT consists of active duty military, DoD employees, dependents, and civilians. During off-duty time, the WCT assists those in need of minor home repairs. In addition, we assist other community oriented non-profit groups.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
A Dyess We Care Team home project typically consists of the following: replacement of dry rotted boards, scraping and painting, construction of wheelchair ramps and installation of outdoor sensor light for quality of life and security. In addition, we frequently add “wish-list” items like landscaping, window shutters, mailboxes, and outdoor furniture (porch swings are very popular!). One of our greatest joys is working with each homeowner, allowing them to select the paint colors, and we only use top quality paint. The average expense of materials exceeds $2,000 per house, and our volunteers can normally complete 5 – 7 home projects a year.
This estimate does not reflect the cost of providing for our volunteers: sunscreen, bug repellent, water, and meals.
BUDGET
The Dyess We Care Team’s primary financial source is derived through United Way’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Sadly, over the years, The Dyess We Care Team has seen our funds drop from a high of $18,000 to last year’s all time low of $5,500. The 2016 Combined
Federal Campaign base totals were 33% less than the previous year. Utilizing this information, we estimate $3,685 for The Dyess We Care Team operational budget for 2017.
